KreArTe: Social Art Festival

The Fundación Escuela de Solidaridad presents The THIRD Edition of its Festival KreArTe that will take place in Granada from May 24th to 29th, 2022, with multiple workshops and events throughout the city!

It was born from the idea that Art represents an infinite space for expression, relationship, and growth, capable of breaking down barriers and giving voice to injustice.

Therefore, KreArte merges the Arts and Social practices and provides a platform for dialogue and experimentation that will grow and consolidate innovative and effective methodologies for social inclusion.

WORKSHOPS

The festival aims to give visibility to different artistic practices as a tool for social inclusion. Guests from all over Europe will provide various workshops throughout the week in which they will show us consolidated projects on how art can serve the social sector.

These workshops, which will take place all over Granada, are dedicated to students, artists, NGO associations, Foundations, social workers, and anyone interested.

STREET PARADE

Furthermore, this year all participants in the Festival will have the opportunity to participate in a great Street Parade that will bring together all the results of the workshops on Sunday, May 29th at 17:00h in Fuente de Las Batallas Granada.

PERFORMANCES

In addition, on May 27th in Plaza Nueva and May 28th in Fuente de Las Batallas, a series of circus and theatrical performances will take place from 17:00h to 24:00h.

The Fundación Escuela de Solidaridad is a project that aims to recover the family sense of people who, due to various circumstances, have not been able to and cannot experience it. It starts from a concept of a universal family where any creed, idea, religion or conviction is accepted and fully integrated, with respect as a method of intervention and personal development. With these premises, the Foundation welcomes people living uprooting, social disadvantage, abuse or exclusion into a home: mothers with children in emergency situations, young immigrants, adults and adolescents at risk. The home is the starting point for personal recovery and in it the key method and training for future integration into society is developed. This idea is rooted in a spirit of non-biological “paternity” or “mothering”. People who are vocationally dedicated to this task act like any father or mother and do not receive financial remuneration for this work. The home is a nurturing space that feeds and promotes learning tasks and where introducing new content is a constant. The Foundation has a philosophy of openness, of not putting conditions on the people it welcomes at home, except in the case of addicted people (alcohol, drugs, gambling, etc.) who are referred to specialized centers. At the same time, a feedback phenomenon occurs over time. The testimony of the oldest in the home becomes a role model for the newcomers.
